Answers:
(1) Then one would speculate on the peaceful caves.
(2) Depends on the interpretation of the fiery earthquake.
(3) not necessarily, but what about the probability of scrolls finds by the
owners of Qumran?
P.S. Isn't it remarkable that Pliny unknowingly (?) describes the Jordan
course in anticipation of the yachads historical development?
