Without attempting to limn the composition layers involved, let me merely
note one confluence of some items mentioned on orion lately:
to do the truth in Qumran Essene texts,
Sons of Light in Qumran Essene texts,
and John 3, which, unlike much of the book which is concerned with "the Jews,"
delivers teaching/polemic,
"he who does the truth comes to the light,"
to a character called a Pharisee.
