orion Code Terminology in the DSS

In light of the recent discussion of the appropriateness of
the term "sect", I am interested to know what (if any) work
has been done on the use of code terminology in the
Scrolls. By "code terminology" I mean names like "the Wicked
Priest" or "the Lion of Judah" or expressions like "seekers
of smooth things." It seems that such terminology points
to isolationist (dare I say "sectarian") tendencies in the
Qumran literature. While I am not interested in entering
the ORION debate on this, I do think that such terminology
must be of interest to the sociologically minded. What does
the use of such terminology say about the authors?
