orion 4Q400
The Shir haShabbat seems to be somewhat "mystical" in its orientation. Is
this evidence that the Qumranites conducted "mystical" Sabbath services?
To be precise, the regular Temple worship of the Herodian period (to which
period 4Q400 seems to date) does not seem to me to have been very
mysterious. It was straightforward sacrifice and prayer, was it not? Yet
the language of 4Q400 seems to me to be of a different order.
Any suggestions as to why the differences?
