Re: question
Hi! I am an undergrad at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,
and am taking a religion course entitled "Jesus and Judaism in the 20th
Century Novels." I am currently working on a project, creating an
historical sketch based on a character from Theissen's "The Shadow of the
Galilean."
My question is this: Would an Essene, living outside of the Essene
community, call himself an Essene? For example, would a man living ouside
of Jerusalem in the early first century who believed as the Essenes do be
known and referred to by others as an Essene?
Than you in advance for your help!
