Subject: YAD HANADIV FELLOWSHIPS
Prof. Isaiah Gafni of the Hebrew Unviversity asked me to post the following
announcement:
VISITING FELLOWSHIPS IN JEWISH STUDIES
Yad Hanadiv and the Beracha Foundation have for the past eleven years
sponsored a Visiting Fellowship program for teachers of Jewish Studies on
a university level. Fellowships are awarded each year to scholars who
hold non-tenured university positions, or who have received tenure after
September 1996. Fellows spend an academic year in Israel working on
their own research, while also meeting regularly with a senior scholar in
their field, who will be selected in consultation with the fellow and who
will serve as an academic supervisor during the year. Fellowships for
the academic year 1997/1998 will be in the amount of $20,000, plus a
family allowance for spouse and each child. Fellows will be
asked to confirm that upon the completion of the 1997/1998 academic year
they will resume teaching Jewish Studies at a university abroad.
Applications must be received by 31 December 1996.
Application forms and information may be obtained by writing to:
