I just wonder if it would be opportune to bring up Dupont-Sommer's
interpretation of a part of the Pesher Nahum regarding Ephraim and Manasseh.
He suggested that the document referred to the Aristobulos II/Hyrcanus II
period directly, associating the choice of Ephraim over the older Manasseh
with Aristobulos and his ascension to the throne in preference to the older
Hyrcanus.
