Some of what you might consider to be errors may actually be the
original text. Don't discount the possibility that it is the MT text that is
in error and not the DSS Isaiah. For example, 1QIsA may preserve the correct
Hebrew for 19:18, the City of the Sun vs. MT's City of Destruction. As for
scribal errors, perhaps that is why 1QIsA was stuffed away in a cave in the
middle of nowhere. Perhaps it had too much holiness to simply destroy, but
was not good enough to be used? Who knows.
