Radio carboned dss
In Schiffman's "Reclaiming..." there was a table relating various
radio-carbon-dated texts. Though this was a relatively short list, it was
clearly not an uninteresting one. One text, the Thanksgiving hymns", was
dated 21 bce - 61 ce, while the Genesis Apocryphon 73 bce - 14 ce. This
would suggest that some of the dss were in fact relatively late.
I haven't heard anything substantial about the recent work in the
radio-carbon effort, although the hints have been coming to suggest that the
results are noteworthy. Has anyone got any further details they could post?
